A dream come true: Canada Cartage gives an UK octogenarian a truck ride

When a valued client of CCLS (Canada Cartage Logistics Solutions) reached out with a special request, the Canada Cartage team didn’t hesitate to respond. Traudi Murray, an 82-year-old visitor from Poole, England, had a unique dream to fulfill during her stay in Canada: taking a ride in a transport truck.

After enduring several challenging years, marked by significant health issues and major heart surgery last year, Traudi, affectionately known as « Oma, » wanted to check this special item off her bucket list. Don Miller, from Superior Glove, contacted Canada Cartage to see if this experience could be arranged.

The dedicated team at the head office worked closely together to make this dream a reality. Chris Henry, one of the company’s drivers, had the pleasure of taking Traudi on a scenic ride from the head office in Mississauga, Ontario, to downtown Toronto. The journey offered stunning views of Lake Ontario and the city, making the experience unforgettable for Traudi.

Canada Cartage would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the head office team who made this special moment possible, including Gord Karpf, National Director of Safety & Compliance; Peter Nicholson, Senior Operations Manager; Samantha Janveau, Operations Manager; Derrick Sosu, Operations Manager; and Susan Delve, Director of National Programs.
