A 23-year-old truck driver, Ravinderbir Singh, has been arrested at the Blue Water Bridge for allegedly smuggling cocaine into Canada from the U.S. He faces charges of drug importation and possession for trafficking.

Singh appeared in Sarnia bail court on Thursday, assisted by a Punjabi interpreter, and remains in custody until his next hearing on Wednesday. Authorities have not disclosed details about the seizure, citing an ongoing investigation.

This is the first trucker drug arrest at the bridge in 2025, following multiple high-profile busts in recent years. In 2024, at least three major drug seizures led to several arrests. Last week, a Quebec trucker caught in 2020 with $23 million worth of cocaine was sentenced to nearly 17 years in prison.

The Blue Water Bridge remains a key drug trafficking route, with cocaine being the most frequently intercepted substance.
