Digital Innovation: TotalEnergies Partners with SLB for a More Sustainable Energy Future
Pau, July 2, 2024 – TotalEnergies and SLB have announced a strategic partnership to develop innovative subsurface digital solutions aimed at achieving more sustainable hydrocarbon production. This collaboration aligns with TotalEnergies’ strategy of « More energy, less emissions, more value. »

Pioneering Digital Innovation for Sustainable Energy
By combining their extensive operational expertise and software development capabilities, TotalEnergies and SLB will jointly create next-generation cloud-based software. These digital tools are designed to enhance subsurface modeling, optimizing production while making it more responsible. Leveraging artificial intelligence, the new software will maximize the potential of collected data to reduce the carbon intensity of existing fields and address new needs in geological carbon storage.
The collaboration will build on previous efforts, such as the Intersect reservoir simulator, to develop cutting-edge digital applications and algorithms applied to geoscience.
Solarizing SLB’s Industrial Sites
TotalEnergies will also support SLB’s energy transition by solarizing its industrial sites globally. Agreements have already been signed in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan. These initiatives will provide SLB with bespoke and competitive solar energy solutions, ensuring price visibility while significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
« We are delighted to develop our multi-energy partnerships with SLB through the solarization of SLB’s industrial sites and digital innovation. This will enable us to create next-generation software, digital applications, and new algorithms for geoscience. These innovative modeling technologies will help us better utilize geological reservoir and basin analyses in the Oil & Gas sector to reduce emissions and advance in geological carbon storage, » said Namita Shah, President, OneTech at TotalEnergies.
« Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key for our industry to continuously develop more effective ways of unlocking energy access. With this visionary partnership, we’re combining the know-how and expertise of both companies to accelerate the delivery of new digital capabilities that will benefit the whole industry, » added Rakesh Jaggi, President of SLB’s Digital & Integration business.
Embracing Innovation and Digital Transformation
TotalEnergies and SLB’s partnership represents a significant step toward revolutionizing energy production. The joint efforts will not only optimize production and reduce carbon intensity but also support SLB’s energy transition through the solarization of its industrial sites in key locations.
This partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to innovation and sustainability, setting a benchmark for the energy industry’s future.
