Thousand Islands Bridge rehabilitation project update: significant progress achieved
The Thousand Islands Bridge (TIB) rehabilitation project is moving forward with great progress. Last week, two girder pins on the suspended spans were successfully replaced. The final two girder pins are scheduled for replacement this week.
During these operations, traffic is reduced to a single-lane alternating flow to ensure safety and minimize disruptions. Temporary struts were installed as the girder was jacked up, allowing for the safe removal and installation of the new assemblies.
We appreciate the patience of all drivers as we work diligently to ensure the long-term safety and durability of this critical infrastructure link.
