CargoM presents its 2023-2024 report at its annual general meeting

CargoM, the Metropolitan Cluster of Logistics and Transportation of Montreal, held its annual general meeting last Monday, gathering key members and partners from the logistics and freight transportation sector.

The event that followed the meeting was marked by a networking session attended by approximately sixty professionals from the industry. The meeting was honored by the presence of Ms. Sophie Mauzerolle, City of Montreal councilor for the Ville-Marie district and responsible for transportation and mobility, and Mr. Geert Vansintjan, the Consul General of Belgium in Montreal.

During the meeting, a report on the activities of the year 2023-2024 was presented. Despite challenges, including significant departures within the management, CargoM’s team was praised for its effective management and continuation of ongoing projects. « We are proud of our results and our team’s ability to stay the course, » stated Michael A. Grier, Senior Vice President of Operations at Dorel Industries Inc. and Vice President of CargoM’s Board of Directors.

Key initiatives undertaken by CargoM this year included:

– The official launch of the warehouse space inventory tool;

– The rollout of the Cap Saint-Laurent catalog in partnership with the Saint-Laurent Economic Development Corporation, financially supported by the MRIF and the MEIE;

– Organizing a networking event with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in collaboration with the Port of Montreal;

– Member visits such as Kuehne+Nagel, DG CanEst Transit Inc., and MSC;

– Active participation in various working tables, workshops, and committees from different government levels and public entities;

– The 8th edition of the Career Day in Transport and Logistics;

– Visits as part of the Professional Trucking Immersion Program (PIPC);

– Participation in the visitor program of the Federal Republic of Germany, featuring presentations on the smart cities of Berlin and Hamburg.

Michael A. Grier concluded by thanking all members, partners, funders, and administrators for their ongoing support and loyalty during this transitional period, expressing vibrant optimism for CargoM’s future.

Finally, we thank the directors who have stepped down from the executive committee and the Board of Directors over the year. First, Mr. Martin Imbleau, who held the position of CEO of the Montreal Port Authority, was replaced respectively by Ms. Geneviève Deschamps, who served as interim, and later by Ms. Julie Gascon, newly appointed CEO.

We also acknowledge the departure of Ms. Madeleine Paquin, who has been with the Cluster from the start and was President and CEO of Logistec Corporation. Her replacement, Mr. Rodney Corrigan, holds the position of President at Logistec Stevedoring Inc. Mr. Charles Raymond, CEO of Ray-Mont Logistiques, passes the baton to his colleague, Mr. Jonathan Hébert, Director of Finance and Growth. Finally, Mr. Stéphane Lapierre, Vice President of Air Operations and Development at Montreal Airports, leaves his seat. To fill this vacant position, we are pleased to welcome Ms. Chloé St-Amand, General Director of Camo-Route, the sectoral workforce committee of the road transport industry.

To everyone who has left the Cluster, we sincerely thank you for your involvement, your support, and your trust. We welcome the newcomers with whom we look forward to fruitful collaborations.
